Lisbon is the Capital city of Portugal and the second oldest city in Europe offering to explore many historic sites, monuments, and natural beauty. One of the most fascinating cities in Europe Lisbon is the major economical and political hub of Portugal. The city covers the area of about 32 miles with population over 400,000.

Lisbon offers to its tourists a lot to explore such as the amazing old buildings, architecture beauty, good people and awesome beaches. In past the Romans were the first settle and rule here at around 200 B.C. After 500 years the Moors attacked to conquer but Christians managed their control. Today Lisbon has many historic constructions and sites they also built some modern infrastructure, the beauty of nature, lively beaches and its more than enough for tourists to enjoy the vacation in Lisbon.
The best time of visiting to Lisbon is summer time when warm temperature keeps Lisbon shores more attractive and alive, a good time and a perfect place to enjoy the surfing, boating, swimming fishing, and sunbathing. During summer months the tourism goes at its peak so it is my advice that you should book your accommodations earlier.
Jeronimos Monastery

Belem Tower
Lisbon is a historic city and rich in the artistic historic sites. In the top ten attractions of the city the Jeronimos Monastery is the place of sixteenth century where Vasco da Gama is buried. This magnificent church building was built in 1500s and recognized globally as a world heritage site. Another world heritage site is Belem Tower also built in 1500s is the city’s icon and symbol of the age of discovery in Portugal. Take your steps to the St. George’s Castle and enjoy the breathtaking views of the city. These historic buildings are the major attractions in Lisbon.
Art lover tour to Lisbon cannot be completed without visiting it many famous museums, such as Gelbenkian Museum which has some incredible collection of art. You can also meet some rare work of art created by legendary painters in Tile Museums. The Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, The Berardo Museum, and the Ancient Art Museum are the places which offer much to learn and enjoy holding a large collection of artifacts and valuable treasures.

For shopping or other entertainment activities visitors should go to Bairro Alto which is famous for its nightlife. It will give you a taste of the modern life. Visitors should don’t miss the Oceanarium, a modern and one of the largest Aquarium in the world offers its visitors to go deep in see and take a close look to learn the interesting sea animals. Several clubs in Lisbon opens all night long.
A trip to Lisbon will give you more joy but should travel in months of May to September when sky generally keeps itself blue and clear with no rain.
